OAK STAIRCASES

BEAUTIFUL OAK STAIRCASES

Style guide

Boasting a timeless appearance and high resistance to the general wear and tear of daily life, bespoke oak staircases are the perfect choice for those who want to make a style statement that will stand the test of time.

It's no wonder they're one of the most popular choices amongst our customers!

BENEFITS OF OAK STAIRCASES

Our oak staircases make a versatile and seamless addition to any home.
Here's why you should consider one for your next project.

Benefits

DURABILITY

Being a slow-growing timber, oak is extremely tough and heavy duty. The dense growth rings produce a fine grain that is almost water-tight, too. As a result, oak is an excellent material choice for staircases; it will remain an eye-catching feature for many years to come.

APPEARANCE

We love the distinctive striped grain of white oak and how it creates such a beautiful finish. You can use treatments on oak to achieve your preferred look or match to the finish of other elements of your home. We often recommend using a clear finish to accentuate its natural attributes.

QUALITY

Traditionally, oak has been synonymous with luxury.

For the timber used to produce your stairs, you can be sure that only the very best oak trees are chosen; they will have been carefully nurtured over many years to achieve a look that is free of kinks and holes.

FINISHING OPTIONS

There are plenty of finishing options available to ensure your oak staircase retains its beauty.

Finishes

OILS

Oils complement oak well and will bring out the best of the timber's natural colours. Products like Osmo's Original Hardwax-Oil will add a great deal of protection to your stairs whilst enhancing their natural character. You can choose from clear or coloured oils depending on your desired finish.

VARNISH

Varnishes will give your staircase a wonderful shine, without the need to polish or wax. They will also protect the wood from spills and knocks. You can use either a clear varnish or something that has a slight colour tint if you would like to switch up the finish.

FEATURED OAK STAIRCASE PROJECT

With a bright and open vision in mind, this client wanted a staircase that would complement the contemporary interior of their new home. Lots of glass was being incorporated at the rear of the property, so we needed to produce multiple sets of stairs that would achieve the same seamless effect.
