This year marks a significant milestone for Multi-Turn as we celebrate 35 years of excellence in crafting high-quality timber staircases. Over the decades, we've had the privilege to be part of various exciting projects. Here, we highlight ten of these projects that not only demonstrate our craftsmanship but also our commitment to quality and innovation.
1. Cove House
This project showcased a grand staircase stretching across three floors, equipped with a continuous handrail, metal spindles, and subtly integrated stair lighting. It exemplifies our ability to merge functionality with luxury, perfectly suited for large-scale residential properties. The design not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also ensures a smooth, cohesive flow throughout the home, making it a standout feature that complements the sophisticated interiors.
2. Maddison Tower
For Maddison Tower, we worked closely with designers to create a stunning ash staircase that embodies modern elegance and quality. We started planning a year ahead to ensure the design would seamlessly integrate with the building's concrete structure and complement the luxurious interior. The staircase features open risers and slatted balustrades that mirror the building’s style, all crafted from durable ash wood and finished in a sleek grey satin stain.
3. HAB Housing – Lovedon Fields
For the Lovedon Fields project, HAB Housing partnered with us again after our successful collaboration in Oxford. We crafted bespoke European oak staircases featuring distinctive wooden balusters. These modern designs seamlessly blend with the timber-framed homes, enhancing their contemporary interiors while reflecting the development's sustainable ethos and local heritage. The result is a series of inviting, durable oak staircases that perfectly meet the project's aesthetic and environmental goals.
4. Nando’s Restaurant
In a unique project for Nando's, we crafted a timber sculpture of their iconic chicken and bespoke wooden door handles for their new restaurant. This project showcases our versatility and ability to craft custom pieces that add a distinctive touch to any setting.
5. Cala Homes, Horsham
For the Cala Homes development in Horsham, we are supplying staircases for an ongoing project of 300 homes. We've already delivered the staircases for the first batch of houses, showcasing our ability to manage large-scale projects while maintaining our high standards of quality and meticulous craftsmanship.
6. Ashgrove – Manor House
For the Ashgrove Manor project, we crafted a bespoke feature staircase with a striking bullnose and curtail bottom step, which widens at the bottom to create a grand entrance. This design perfectly showcases our ability to enhance the grandeur of any space with tailored, elegant staircase solutions.
7. Bamboo Staircase
One of our first projects using bamboo featured a painted softwood staircase, complemented by sleek metal spindles. The key elements of the staircase — the treads, handrail, and newel cap — were all meticulously crafted from bamboo. This choice of material not only added a unique aesthetic but also underscored our commitment to incorporating sustainable resources into our designs.
8. Barn Conversion
In this impressive barn conversion, we designed a striking staircase featuring a toughened glass balustrade and open risers. The staircase perfectly blends rustic charm with contemporary elements, creating a bold and stylish statement that enhances the character of the home. This project showcases our ability to merge traditional and modern design for a unique and eye-catching result.
9. Thakeham Development
In this extensive residential project, we supplied staircases for 16 houses and a block of flats. Each house featured a softwood staircase, beautifully carpeted for a classic look. These staircases were delivered primed with a white undercoat, significantly easing the painting and decorating process.
10. Danny Mac
Danny and his wife, Carley, returned to his childhood bungalow to remodel it into their dream family home. We crafted a bespoke oak staircase that enhanced the space and light, integrating beautifully with their design vision. Working with designer Gina Everett, we incorporated a stepped cut string effect and glass balustrades, featuring elegant curtail and bullnose steps. The light oak finish matched the interior perfectly, while the expansive landing balcony provided stunning views and natural light, becoming a standout feature.
